Malaysia tests US peanut butter after salmonella scare: report
Malaysia is testing all American peanut butter products before allowing them into the country following a salmonella scare in the United States, the Star Daily reported Sunday.
Hundreds of people have fallen ill in the United States, and a chain of cookie shops has recalled of one of its products here fearing it could be contaminated.
"(We) raised the alert to level five at all ports to ensure that the incoming batches were free from salmonella contamination," Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai told the paper.
"It's very specific. We are focusing on one product -- peanut butter."
Health officials told the paper the level five alert meant all US peanut butter products entering the country would be tested to determine whether they are safe for consumption.
Last Thursday, the health ministry announced it was investigating the Famous Amos cookie chain after it withdrew dough from several of its outlets.
Company representatives say they do not have any peanut butter in their cookies here and all their products are safe for consumption.
The salmonella bacterium is spread most often by the consumption of food contaminated by animal faecal matter, according to health experts.

Malaysia 'very happy' with Obama's plans for Muslim world: PM
Malaysian Premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Thursday said he was "happy" new US President Barack Obama plans to engage the Muslim world, but wants action and a less confrontational approach.
Abdullah was responding to Obama's inaugural speech, in which the president promised to "seek a new way forward" with the Muslim world, "based on mutual interest and mutual respect."
"(Obama) said the right thing (which) we are very happy with," Abdullah told state news agency Bernama.
"We welcome his statement but we will like to see action to be taken," he added.
"I welcome his inaugural speech and I am sure there will be a big change in the foreign policy of the United States, especially on certain aspects that are regarded as very confrontational."
Although the premier did not elaborate on what the confrontational aspects were, he hoped Obama's pledge would pave the way towards a "new US attitude" when addressing problems faced by the Muslim world.
Malaysia and the US are in the middle of long-running free trade negotiations that have become bogged down over sensitive areas including Malaysia's system of affirmative action for Muslim Malays who dominate the multiracial population.
Abdullah has said Malaysia is hopeful it will be able to strike a better deal under an Obama administration.

landslide occur at Seaside Malaysia on 1993 year,this video was taken on the spot at that time.That year, I received a call by the owner of a tin mine (the element tin, not tin as in cans...). He said that his mine, which had been running for a few decades, was about to collapse. I rushed to the scene with my video camera and waited for a few hours. Finally, I took this valuable footage. Although the footage lasted only a few minutes, it is horribly exciting enough. I hope that this video can let you all appreciate the consequence of ruining our environment

Biology Teacher for my class 4 Anggerik gone mad ! Because we laugh at her english she went over the top and flipped!
My Biology teacher for my class 4 Anggerik totally flipped out ! And this dumb michelle accused me ! But , actually it was choong yean's fault . You see , he told her we were going to change class , she asked why and he said his mother say the teachers in our class are no good ! But before that we commented on her English you know Puan.Herdawati wouldn't say best English well but it's understandable so she didn't care about the comment till choong yean told her about her mother say our class teachers are no good and she went on to some racist crap and she just left our class didn;t sugn the book and when we stand up to say thank you she shouted dont stand up! oh man she is pissed she totally flipped out.

Changing Class......
Not officially confirmed yet but Puan . Loh came to my class and chose 5 people with 5A 2B or 5A 3B too change class to Daisi BTW my class is 4anggerik . Anyways , soem poeple hesitated but so far no choice :( hopefully it all works out and people go to the class they want! She is still looking for 1 more person to change class wonnder who 0.o
